Lower Limb Injuries and Rehabilitation

This 6-hour workshop provides fitness professionals and movement students with a clear, clinical understanding of common lower-limb injuries and how to work with them safely and effectively. Using a movement-based rehabilitation approach, you will learn how injuries develop, how tissue heals, and how to adapt exercise at each stage of recovery.

Available online, in person, and in a hybrid format.

What the course covers:

  • The three stages of tissue healing: inflammation, repair, and remodeling
  • Types of pain: acute, chronic, inflammatory, and referred – and how they influence exercise selection
  • Tissue-driven vs. nervous system-driven pain and what this means for load progression
  • Essential anatomy of the pelvis, hip, knee, and ankle
  • Common conditions: IT band syndrome, piriformis syndrome, runner’s knee, meniscus tears, and ankle sprains
  • How each injury develops, key signs and symptoms, and evidence-informed rehabilitation strategies
  • Exercise adaptation for different stages of recovery
  • Clinical reasoning and decision-making in real teaching scenarios

  • Theory exam taken online
  • Certificate awarded upon successful completion
  • Commonly taken together with the Upper Limb Injuries & Rehabilitation workshop – both total 12 hours
